Admission Requirements

For both the onsite and distance track, LWDI will consider candidates based on the following admission criteria:

  • Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree
  • Verification of completion of the DPD Program in Nutrition and Dietetics or the Intent to Complete Form from an accredited DPD, issued within the past five years.
  • Beginning January 1, 2024, all interns must complete a graduate degree in order to be submitted to the Commission on Dietetic Registration to sit for the registration exam. LWDI gives applicants plenty of options! We are accredited to accept applicants who fall into three categories:
    • those who already have a graduate degree
    • those who are in or plan to begin a program of their choosing
    • those who plan to pursue a graduate degree with one of our partners
  • Official transcripts of all prior academic work completed from all colleges and universities
  • Overall and DPD GPA of 3.0 or above most strongly considered; however we also value excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with the public
  • LWDI Program gives preference to candidates with dietetics work or volunteer experience and to candidates with confirmed supervised practice sites and preceptors

Application Requirements

  1. REGISTER WITH DICAS LWDI uses the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System (DICAS) online internship application, which can be found at:  DICAS.  DICAS requires a personal statement, online application, official transcripts and three (3) letters of recommendation and is $50 for the first applications and $25 for each additional application. Once your application is started in DICAS LWDI will reach out via email for an informal Meet and Greet.

Application Submission

The completed application packet must be submitted to DICAS by the October deadline for the Fall Cycle and the February deadline for the Spring Cycle.
